Greystar has endless resources and classes to help you do your job and do it well. There are ample growth and networking opportunities.

Greystar is a large company so you do not always get to create close relationships with people outside of your portfolio.

The on-site teams were the strongest part of the business. My immediate team was supportive, professional and enjoyable to work with.

Greystar’s Australian Build-to-Rent operations appeared relatively immature for a business of its size and international experience.There was a disconnect between head office and on-site operations, with a high number of head office roles overseeing areas that could have been managed more effectively on site. There often appeared to be multiple people performing overlapping functions, while on-site teams remained responsible for the day-to-day operational challenges.There was also limited accountability around lease-up challenges such as marketing, seasonal ebs and flows and pricing. Performance expectations could feel unclear, with targets based largely on broader portfolio performance rather than individual KPIs. Base salaries were relatively low.Staff turnover was high, and while feedback was encouraged, it was not always well received. There was also a noticeable level of micromanagement and limited recognition for good performance.Australian employees did not receive the same housing discounts available in some of Greystar’s international operations.Based on my experience, I would not have recommended Greystar as a long-term career move. It provided useful BTR experience, but I considered it more suitable as a stepping stone

Very well know, strict policies and procedures in place so things are not constantly changing, lots of resources, many avenues to take with the right support
