Great coworkers but poor management and high turnover

The coworkers and members/guests we saw every day.

What was discussed in interview did not transfer over to the actual position (commission, responsibilities, how the clinic is managed, saying the position is new but find out had been through a dozen employees in less than a year). Poor management, owners micromanaged from afar. Written up for little things but Service Providers got away with everything. Great SP’s but were allowed to come in smelling like pot, got away with screaming at Front Desk associates infront of guests and walk out while their guest is there waiting. Very high front of the house turnover.

Constant influx of clients at the location I formally worked. Great tippers because I was in an amazing area. You really feel your work is appreciated. Managers were flexible with your schedule.

Easy to overwork yourself. Listen to your body and be smart with your breaks

In my experience, the workplace culture here felt cutthroat and, at times, subtly hostile. As a male massage therapist, I experienced what felt like discrimination and a persistent sense of distrust toward male staff. There seemed to be underlying gender tensions that made it difficult to feel respected or fully included.While the owner promotes a “no drama” policy, it often felt like this translated into suppressing legitimate concerns rather than addressing them openly. Conflict and grievances did not feel safe to bring forward, which contributed to an unhealthy environment.Ultimately, working here was a deeply stressful and, at times, traumatizing experience for me. I would encourage prospective employees — especially male therapists — to carefully consider whether this environment aligns with their needs before accepting a position.
