Michaels Reviews

Basic cashier job

04/01/2026 - New York, NY

Pros

No complaints simple standard job

Cons

Not that I can think of right now

Run as far as you can.

04/15/2026 - Augusta, GA

Pros

Employee discount (but barely that because they constantly give a 30% coupon on the website)

Cons

Everything. Management is terrible.Overworked and underpaid. Poor/no training. Lots of changes with little support.

Not a career place

04/01/2026 - Edmonton, AB

Pros

30% Employee Discount for crafters

Cons

Wage, support, hours, workload, blurry lines when it comes to job descriptions, minimal communication from head office, disorganized, not current in technology, wasted money in "get money quick" setups, cheap equipment, blurry lines regarding their employee support foundation (Michael's Cares)

Going Downhill

04/03/2026 - null

Pros

The only pro is the other members of staff are in the trenches with you

Cons

Been at this company for years, lately they have slashed hours and piled on new promotions and unrealistic workloads for barebones staff. Combining regular floor work (overwhelming returns and recovery) with immense pressure to boost rewards signups, online and ship from store orders, fabric and trim cutting, limitless balloon orders, new ten minute framing, and constant understaffing. This company does not care about its workers, will barely even provide enough hours to keep the store running then reprimand workers because customers are unsatisfied.

Comfortable schedule, but high expectations and low payroll

04/22/2026 - Philadelphia, PA

Cons

Constantly being harassed about member sign up.

It is nice but doesn’t pay the bills, even as a full timer

Cons

Different sleep schedule since it’s overnight

The nights and weekends where quite often

Temp job

04/22/2026 - null

Pros

I enjoyed putting freshly new products onto newly built shelves. Coworkers were very nice and friendly.

Cons

I was one of the workers that was let go after the store was finished and ready to shop.

Toxic work environment

04/06/2026 - null

Pros

Coworkers were nice and easy to get along with. Discount was very useful

Cons

Toxic work environment due to management, upper management did nothing despite countless reports

Decent environment but overwhelming workload and low pay increase

04/24/2026 - Media, PA

Pros

Relatively chill as far as retail goes.

Cons

They added self-service kiosks but you're still expected to talk to every customer, boost rewards sign ups, fix those kiosks when they inevitably have errors, and also be doing like four other tasks in other places... also, I got maybe a $0.40 wage increase after working multiple years here. It's like they don't want you to stay. Multiple accomplished managers were still getting way underpaid. If you're in high school and don't have big bills or are able to work a better-paying job alongside this, it's fine. Otherwise...

Ok job

04/11/2026 - Toms River, NJ

Pros

Getting to build stuff and change things and the ppl were nice

Cons

The district management was the worst

cabinet

04/20/2026 - Atlanta, GA

Cons

Great Store

04/07/2026 - Talleyville, DE

Pros

Very understanding of balance between personal and work life.

Cons

hours can be tight sometimes
