Too late to become a partner
04/21/2025 - Northbrook, IL
Pros
7 free mark outs Plenty of time off (21 days in advance)Flexible scheduling Free drinks Culture depends on the team and what you make of it.
Cons
Dress code is overbearing Lacks diversity especially with black people Store managers have no accountability and no reliable moral code. In my opinion they have too much control, dms don’t get involve, a lot of stores deal with micromanaging passive agreesive leaders or rude quick to write people up managers, they don’t educate leaders or anyone on micro aggressions and prejudice enough probably because they expect the handful of black workers to educate people. There are serious culture issues, ethics, and unrealistic expectations. It’s clear that whoever is in the room making these nation wide/ corporate changes hasn’t worked in a store in god knows how long, if ever. One other thing every thing is becoming automated and technological, when the technology is not reliable. I was hired in a time of change, this company is trying hard to reinvent itself and good back in good standing with its old market. Time moves forward not backward. So good luck with that
Great First IT Job
04/21/2025 - Phoenix, AZ
Pros
Easy to learnGreat People to work withAwesome Experience to get to learn about the IT world
Cons
awful schedule: i worked an awful schedule which could not be changed and it killed my life balanceContractors could care less about the stores and will sometimes do half backed jobs and it sucks when you now have to take the heat for it when the stakeholder calls back with the poor service they receivedMost people are friendly and will always be open to help you and collaborate with you, but as always theres the ones that would rather do anything but help you
Great Opportunity
04/21/2025 - Richmond, VA
Pros
It was a very positive experience working for Starbucks. I worked there for a new store and at the beginning of the pandemic. It was very challenging but I loved building connections with the customers and my peers.
Cons
Insurance can be better. I remembered I had to work a certain amount of hours to get my insurance back then.Another con would be pay, I was at $9.50 an hour from 2019 to 2020. The pay could’ve so much better
Great job with great benefits
04/22/2025 - Annapolis, MD
Pros
I love the team I work with, and the job is fairly easy and has very clear procedures, and policies which make the overall job easy. The pay is great—better than anywhere else here, and the many benefits like stock in the company, and matched 401K are wonderful if you take advantage of them!
Cons
With the recent policies going into effect this year, it is harder to manage the workload, and sometimes management can be rude and overbearing.Management is always on you case about folowing every single policy, but it doesn't always get directed towards the team as a whole, mostly the shift supervisors which can be very frustrating especially if you have baristas who are only there for a paycheck and don't care.
Starbucks
04/22/2025 - Saratoga, CA
Pros
Good wage, 30% discount, free drinks on shift, 10 free food items a week on shift, coffee beans mark-outs, good customer service experience.
Cons
It all depends on your manager, I was lucky to have a great manager for most of my time at Starbucks. I had one manager for a few months that was bad at writing schedules though.
Good management, harder than other food service
04/26/2025 - San Jose, CA
Pros
Good Management - always something to do - and decent employee benefits for what can be expected : free drinks on shift, discounts, free 1lb beans and food every week, and other benefits that aren’t used too much by most employees
Cons
A lot is expected for only minimum wage, lots of memorizing complex recipes and systems compared to other food service jobs that pay the same.
Decent Job
04/28/2025 - Baton Rouge, LA
Pros
You can pick up shifts from your store or other stores. Free coffee daily and free at-home coffee biweekly. Reasonable pay for serving food and drinks. Most people will be happy and nice if you show a little effort.
Cons
Some customers are dead set on being rude. You have to accept that there will be some stinkers coming in at least every other day. If you work during the morning, there is guaranteed to be a morning rush. Rush means no moment of peace for an hour or two at a time.
barista
04/28/2025 - Clemson, SC
Pros
good job to meet people and talk. Work hard reaps real experience
Cons
you are on your feet all day and not a lot of hours to go about. very short shifts until you prove yourself
Store manager is company’s General Manager title
04/28/2025 - Katy, TX
Pros
Free drinks on shifts working, accounted for of course and 5 free meals “ either sandwich, egg bites, pastries or boxes is anything left over after guests per week. Biggest perk for me personally was one bag of a 1 lb bags of coffee per week.
Cons
Too many to list unfortunately.
Love my store and manger but the new dress code :(
04/29/2025 - Dallas, TX
Pros
Fantastic partners and manger, fun shifts
Cons
New dress code is making a 6 year partner look for new job. I don’t get why I should be punished now when I didn’t used to be a problem per the old dress code. I’m heartbroken at the prospect of having to leave my store, I’m hoping they roll back the dress code.
Very straightforward
04/30/2025 - Sacramento, CA
Pros
-Management did a great job with training-After 1 year working there I felt confident in my role and guiding others-Free food/drink
Cons
-Depending on what store, hours can be hard to come by. You can pick up shifts at other stores-Can get somewhat repetitive

04/30/2025 - New York, NY
Pros
Great place to work at
Cons
Can get really busy in morning
No boundaries with work/life balance
03/10/2025 - Columbus, OH
Pros
The hours are great. I get to work early and be off early (2:30) at the latest. That is the one positive I really do enjoy.
Cons
Working for corporate America for decades, I've never worked for a company who has no boundaries between leadership and employees. Baristas have the store managers phone number and can text at all hours of the day. You are essentially on call 24/7. It creates problems if you are married and have kids because you never can turn off your phone and distract managers expect you to be in the work chat constantly even if your off.
Review

Cons

03/17/2025 - Athens, GA

Cons
Corporate is not great. They will be annoying. Gamedays in Athens SUCK!
