Great products and benefits, but service needs improvement

04/08/2026 - San Francisco, CA

Pros

Great products Great benefits Decent Pay

Cons

No support for customers when needing repairs....hence the low rankings on review websites. They're quick to answer sales call....they put you in VM hell when you call for service.Ps...Sunrun could be an exceptional company if they just handled the service calls with high importance.

Sunrun

04/09/2026 - San Francisco, CA

Pros

Great company to work for

Cons

High turnover in the sales department

Good pay and no micromanagement, but poor company image

04/16/2026 - Houston, TX

Pros

Good pay, no micro managment.

Cons

Bad reviews of Sunrun and overall public perception on residential solar. People are very mad at Sunrun because there are a lot of people that felt lied to.

High expectations for $15/hr

04/06/2026 - Des Plaines, IL

Pros

It's a job if you need something to float you until your next gig. Onboarding is top-notch. Training manager was very invested in your onboarding/training.

Cons

It was a little bit of a bait and switch. The job description said "appointment setter" and then it became a sales role. The recruiter said "at minimum one weekend day" my trainer told me EVERY Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You are assigned to local Home Depots' or Lowes where probably 100's of sales people before you were assigned and already pitched to local regulars.Strict dress code. Yes you should represent yourself and Sunrun professionally but you are in hardware stores where one might stand out and appear unapproachable. There is absolutely no-way you will make $70k in this role which is what they list as the potential on their job description.

Straightforward job but no advancement opportunities

04/23/2026 - Lehi, UT

Pros

The job is straight forward, a lot of changes to keep it interesting but not more difficult or time consuming.

Cons

No one on the team has moved up in any way in the company as long as I have been here, very stagnate

Amazing opportunity

04/14/2026 - Milpitas, CA

Pros

Great flexibility and opportunity for large pay

Cons

No base, requires a lot of discipline

Run far away

04/15/2026 - null

Pros

Trauma bonds make for lasting friendships

Cons

Literally everything else. This place is a joke. The roles we hire for are a joke. The metrics are a joke. Good luck getting benefits because they’ll keep you as a contractor until you’re blue in the face, but don’t worry “benefits are coming”.

Supportive team but long hours at some locations

04/15/2026 - Virginia, IL

Pros

Great group of folks good very kidn to me

Cons

Can be long hours depending on which location

Good benefits but low pay and demanding expectations

04/15/2026 - Austin, TX

Pros

Gas Card and Mileage Reimbursement

Cons

Pay structure, quality of leads and amount of time they demand out of you for only a 20k a year base salary.

Valuable retail prospects, but uneven closing support

04/18/2026 - Bowie, MD

Pros

Access to prospects inside of retail is golden, we have access to both Costco & Lowes members

Cons

You cant choose your closer , some are better than others

Nice people

03/26/2026 - San Francisco, CA

Pros

Great sales role, lead gen is difficult

Cons

high pressure to get sales

Good Place to Work

03/04/2026 - San Francisco, CA

Pros

Fast paced and engaging work. High ceiling for people who can work hard and elbows out make a difference.

Cons

Typical big company stuff. Up and Down of the solar market is stressful. Market uncertainty and politics drive a competitive environment.

Great place to work

03/13/2026 - Lehi, UT

Pros

Employee centeredGreat benefitsGood work enviroment

Cons

Not a lot of room for upward movement

Great Company to work for

03/11/2026 - Lehi, UT

Pros

I’ve been pleased with my time at Sunrun. The design team is very supportive of one another and very flexible and supportive of a healthy work-life balance. CEO Mary Powell is inspiring and I feel that my work contributes to making the world a better place.

Cons

There has been a strong push for all employees to return to office full time which is a bummer. Hybrid schedule is much better for everyone in my opinion, but it’s ultimately not up to me.
