Steer clear

Pros

Zero pros! No confidentiality. Admin lies!

Cons

They flat out don’t care about the employees. There is zero confidentiality.

Work here at your own risk

07/23/2024 - null

Pros

- Nice senior level co-workers- Nice office building with good amenities

Cons

- Insane favoritism from managers and controllers- No work life balance - Management will be really nice to your face and tell you are doing a good job just to talk bad about you behind your back. - Toxic work environment.

Onboarding is nonexistent, Corporate Cilture is about money not patient safety or clinical outcomes

07/18/2024 - Frisco, TX

Pros

Pay is on low side of average.

Cons

You don’t have any clinical support from corporate. They expect you to create and do everything and also work as a staff nurse because you are salaried so your time doesn’t go into worked hours per case. They do this with managers as well and keep them in staffing to run the surgery centers with the absolute least help possible. They have patient safety issues because of their unwillingness to staff correctly. Revenue is excellent. The physicians and USPI have excellent revenue with huge increases each year. Staff get 2% raises at most. You are expected to stay late every day then they will tell you to come in two hours late a couple of days to ensure you don’t get overtime or rewarded for staying late to finish cases. No work life balance at all. Constantly hearing “this isn’t shift work, be glad you are getting hours”.

Not a good company

07/17/2024 - Creve Coeur, MO

Pros

I can't say anything nice. The pay is terrible and below the national average, you pay a lot for short term disability.

Cons

Nurse manager was handed the job because she knew the right folks. She is not knowledgeable about her position, and has it out for African Americans.

Decent start up job

Antiquated Penny Pinchers

07/17/2024 - San Diego, CA

Pros

No call, holidays or weekends

Cons

Antiquated and Unsafe Medicine Delivery System(No Omnicell or Pyxis!)Paper ChartingSo stingy that most of the seasoned staff is brainwashed by the penny pinching Low low low rate of PTO accrualOld and SLOW computersNurses pull all narcotics for anesthesiologists! Lack of PSP's, No Anesthesia Techs and not enough staff nurses. All the nurses are part time or per diem! Its a way to save money. They barely want to give staff full time status Disposables are basically only ordered when they run out

Pleased With Company

06/08/2024 - null

Hardly any room for advancement unless you reside close to corporate or in a location that’s growing.

06/12/2024 - null

Pros

No weekends, holidays, call, flexible schedules. Doctors easy to work with.

Cons

Good work and life balance

06/19/2024 - Reading, PA

Pros

Great patient focused environment, great atmosphere, fair pay, per diem staff to assist offices as needed

Cons

Outpatient hours as expected with evenings, however the expectations are reasonable

Great Work Environment

06/27/2024 - Chandler, AZ

Pros

I'd also like to add - I'm PRN, not Part-Time. There was no option for Per Diem in the drop-down. Part-time would have offered more benefits and bonuses, etc.Anyway, Pros:Great work environment. I never feel like we are short-staffed and I feel well supported by my co-workers and my manager. I always get a 30-minute lunch break. I love the culture--everyone is professional, kind, and willing to work together as a team. This may be all just specific to this USPI location in Chandler.I feel the pay is fair and I generally get the hours I need with a PRN position. I feel I have the opportunity for professional growth and can move to different areas of the company if desired. I feel management here cares about us and is willing to work with us regarding any concerns. They are communicative and give appropriate feedback when needed.other pros: low stress compared to a hospital, 1-2 patients at a time in PACU, easier work, healthier patients, no nights, rarely any weekends, etc.

Cons

Occasional late days if a surgeon gets significantly behind. Some very early (for me) starts if you are in pre-op. Sometimes my sleep gets out of wack with a fluctuating sleep schedule.
