Aspen Dental Reviews
RDH

Pros
Can be a good place to work depending on the practice owner. With the right dentist and office manager you can do really well.
Cons
Often overworked, some dentists don’t respect your time or seem to care about your patients or workload. The shifts are long and you are often expected to manage your own schedule plus perio chart several patients getting exams with a doctor with no assistance. They have an AI software that sucks and doesn’t work most of the time. Also, at my 20 year mark of being an employee, not one person acknowledged me. I dislike their health insurance offerings. Expensive and high deductibles

Pros

Cons

Horrible place to work
10/26/2025 - New York, NY
Pros
Nothing, you are just a number
Cons
Everything, mangers are micromanaging, you are trained on the systems but lied about what the job actually is.
Incompetence everywhere
10/08/2025 - null
Pros
Job itself is enjoyable. Benefits aren't the greatest, but at least they're available. Early Fridays are great. Advancement available when there is a need.
Cons
Incompetence at all levels. From doctors on down to assistants it is tough to find properly trained personnel. Removable prosthetics are a large part if our business, yet they often hire dentists with little to no denture experience. They start in an office woefully unprepared and the Tech us expected to lead them when they don't want to be led. This is extremely stressful and more techs will seek other employment because if it.
Trade $$ for control
10/23/2025 - null
Pros
Guaranteed daily rate, clinical autonomy, corporate leadership/support
Cons
Little to no control over staffing, schedule, patient load. Overwhelming for a new dentist if the owner doesn’t believe in the two doctor model
I love working for Aspn
10/08/2025 - Camden, SC
Pros
I have been there 3 +yeas and make 2x as much as i ever did in my 20 years of private practice and they match your 401k contributions and have many other benifits like health insurance and pet insurance and disability. They also have a hygiene support team that helps you with any questions or struggles and they offer continuing education credits, they paid for me to be laser certified and my doctor paid for my local anesthesia certification. I truly love it there and if you are motivated you have the potential to make huge monthly bonuses. Sometimes my bonuses are even bigger than my paychecks. Every office is different so sometimes you have to try a few offices to get the right fit. There is also opportunity to move up into other positions within aspen and move up the corporate ladder. It is also easy to transfer from 1 aspen to another should you move or one position opens up at another aspen closer to your home, which is what i did recently.. i will probably stay at Aspen for the rest of my time practicing hygiene for these reasons.
Cons
Very fast paced at times but then there are times where you are also very slow. you can make your schedule lighter and make your appointments as long as you need. I usually see 4-6 patients a day. If you need 4 hours for Srp or 2 hours for a prophy its perfectly fine. Where it gets a little hectic is you have to perio chart and treatment plan all of the new patients that come in to see the doctor alongside your column of patients so thats where sometimes it can get a little stressful. But there are some days where there are very few new patients and some days where there are 20. Aspen’s demographic of new patients are usually people who havent been in for a very long time and a good majority of them are periodontal pt’s requiring SRP ,Laser and other locally applied antibiotics.

Cons

RUN
10/19/2025 - Macedonia, OH
Pros
Met lifelong friends through trauma bonding
Cons
Minimal pay for what’s expected. Zero focus on patient care, this place is all about the profit. The doctors are the worst, all straight out of school, money hungry and incompetent. Literally they train employees on sales tactics and financing more than anything else.
You will not be valued
09/05/2025 - Jacksonville, FL
Pros
Office manager is understanding and shows appreciation when she cans
Cons
This place will so undervalue your worth!!! They expect you to work like a robot. When you try to grow in your position you're told you won't get a raise even though you have completed necessary training to get a promotion, given more work on top of your already busy schedule and you are still not appreciated. I recently got promoted from a LT3 technician to a LT4 technician which now makes me a trainer. I then got another promotion within 2 weeks to a POD leader. Which basically means, I oversee lab techs in my region, check in to see how things are going, pass along any new information, work with the Dr's, lab enablement and the regional manager to solve any issues in these labs. Now after training, taking all my assessments, passing them and being certified I'm being told I don't get a raise with all that extra work. Mind you im still working in my own lab, carrying my own case load for my office. I'm the most productive lab tech in my region, and I was still willing to take on the extra work because I feel like it would be a great opportunity to grow into more of a management position, and get the labs and Dr's all on the same page. But now im being told I can't get a raise because the office isn't making budget. When I've also stressed the office would make budget if they made the Dr in my office do more work instead of leaving for lunch 30 min to a hour early and going home 30 min to an hour early. If you are a hard worker with this company you get penalize as far as moving up & getting paid properly when others don't do their part!!
Great atmosphere
