Avenue5 had a great culture in office and I felt they aligned with the corporate values that they preached. I had a really wonderful manager and got to shadow other colleagues within the team. They enabled me to succeed in my job and wanted to invest in me and my skills.

My experience with Avenue5, specifically within the Denver market, has been extremely disappointing. In my experience, local leadership has created a culture where favoritism is very apparent, and certain behaviors can feel isolating and, at times, like workplace bullying.There is also a significant disconnect between upper leadership/internal support teams and the employees working onsite. Onsite teams are expected to perform at a high level, yet the support, training, and clear guidance needed to meet those expectations are often lacking. While training is provided, I found that much of it did not adequately address the actual day-to-day challenges and responsibilities that onsite teams face.Getting clear direction or meaningful support from upper leadership can also be difficult. In my experience, issues sometimes had to escalate significantly before they received appropriate attention, and there was often very little accountability for the lack of guidance or support that contributed to those issues in the first place.Avenue5 speaks frequently about having a strong company culture, but I did not consistently see that culture reflected internally in the Denver market. Building a positive culture requires more than talking about it—it requires accountability, consistent leadership, fair treatment, meaningful training, and employees feeling safe asking for help or raising concerns.I would also caution employees about the professional environment surrounding leadership relationships. My experience was that if you were not viewed favorably by certain members of leadership, it could feel as though your opportunities, relationships, and professional reputation within the company were negatively affected.There are talented and hardworking people at Avenue5, particularly at the onsite level, but the Denver market would benefit greatly from stronger leadership accountability, more practical support for onsite teams, and a genuine effort to ensure employees are treated consistently and fairly.

I worked for Avenue5 as a Maintenance Supervisor, and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing.The maintenance team worked hard to keep the property operating, but it often felt like employee concerns were ignored rather than addressed. Communication from management was inconsistent, and when issues were raised, there was little accountability or meaningful follow-up. Instead of feeling supported, I often felt that problems were shifted onto employees rather than resolved.One of the most frustrating aspects of my experience came at the end of my employment. There was a lack of communication regarding my separation, and I experienced significant difficulty trying to recover my personal tools and property. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue professionally through the appropriate channels, I received little assistance and was ultimately directed elsewhere rather than being offered a practical solution.The workplace culture, at least in my experience, did not foster trust or transparency. Employees who raised concerns often felt unheard, and morale suffered because of it.There are dedicated maintenance professionals and on-site employees who genuinely care about the residents and the communities they serve. My criticism is directed at the leadership and organizational support I experienced, not at those coworkers who worked hard every day.Cons: Poor communication, lack of accountability from leadership, inadequate employee support, inconsistent management practices, and unresolved concerns during and after employment.
Toxic environment with cliques and poor management

None. If you want to work with a bunch of racist people go there. Also, if you don’t fit into your regional managers clique, expect to be fired or “let go” within a month or two

Too many to list. Regional managers sit around all day but when it comes time to meet the ownership, they show up and act like they are doing all of the work. Maintenance staff and managers are too disconnected. Like I said, if you don’t fit into a clique, you won’t last.

Upper management, nepotism, cult-like culture, hit-and-miss regional network that can put you in a bad place if you draw a bad one (and they have some very bad ones). Opportunistic, cutthroat people are rewarded in this culture.
