Pros

Receptive ManagementFriendly Coworkers (a little too friendly depending on your separation of coworkers to real friends)Food in the Break RoomDecorating the Break RoomSlow times *sometimes*

Cons

Cross Training on everything lolInflux of donors (sometimes upset donors but you know thats everywhere)Won't let you leave at the immediate end of shift, asks you to stock, etc.**NOT A SIT DOWN JOB**Fast paced back and forth: Helping with scheduling, logging them into questionnaire computers, directing them where to go, payment issues, asking for a manager when you just told them the same thing the manager would (everywhere tbh)Sometimes doesn't stick to YOUR availabilityIf your trainer calls out, you have no trainer. Just go sit in the back office, unless they find someone to train you. But highly doubt it.

Run away

Pros

Insurance and other benefits start on 1st day, Other employees, lots of people who genuinely care about helping others, staff and donors

Cons

Very poorly managed.Management constantly lies and manipulates employees, forced overtime and scheduling changes after initial postings, never out at scheduled time off. Non employees have access to employees work records and have actually been seen organizing employee files for the Employee Training Manager by several employees.

Good first phlebotomy job

Pros

There is so much to learn. The pay is also pretty decent.

Cons

Management doesn't help, they're always in the office. The training department isn't supported. Having to reach metrics that are hard when it's so busy. There is no time to train.

Good but can get tedious

01/08/2025 - Houston, TX

Pros

Good management and helpful team

Cons

Bad experience with some donors, long lines, low pay

Dictatorship

01/06/2025 - Orlando, FL

Pros

Busy as there is always people wanting to donate plasma.

Cons

This job suffers from severe management issues and an unhealthy work culture. Managers do not communicate effectively with one another, resulting in conflicting instructions and inconsistent policies. They pick and choose rules to enforce based on their preferences, creating confusion and unfairness.Supervisors excessively micro-manage while pushing most of the workload onto employees. Management regularly checks cameras to monitor employees, further contributing to a lack of trust. Promises made by management are rarely kept, and their word holds little value. The head manager often discusses personal matters, like being single in her 40s, during work hours—completely unprofessional. Gossip runs rampant and is not addressed, adding to the toxicity. Worse, the manager manipulates HR, fabricating reasons to terminate employees she dislikes. Favoritism is blatantly obvious, with consequences applied unevenly across the team.Management has even been known to fabricate write-ups, twisting the employee handbook to justify their false claims. The "open door" policy is a farce; employees face retaliation if they voice concerns. When higher-ups visit, management isolates employees to prevent honest feedback. This workplace is an example of what happens when leadership is untrustworthy and lacks accountability. Proceed with caution if you're considering this job.
