24 Hour Fitness Customer Service Rep.

It's a really great entry level job and a great hands-on job in general! You learn many essential skills for most jobs including of course customer service, but also handling phone calls and to learn structured information that you'll be asked about by guests, customers, and staff, like class and daycare schedules, services and membership details, when cleanings are scheduled, maintenance requests, other 24 Hour Fitness locations, specific location hours, products (drinks, protein bars, etc), etc. Getting a free membership to the gym was also a great benefit, it shows the importance of health in your life. I also had a great manager, Ed, who made sure we knew how to do the jobs properly and was very clear about expectations. He also expanded my role from Sales Representative to Sales and Service Representative, which gave me an opportunity to learn more and develop more in my career. I also had great co-workers and customers who were really like a community, they'd been going there for decades and it was a great environment to work in. They were also willing to work with my schedule as a student and I felt purpose being part of a workforce that could help my community value their health and well-being but also have meaningful connections with people. Another plus, very cool and comfortable all black-colored uniforms.
Cons
There were concerns I had sometimes about safety in the area where I was working. Security wasn't always there for the entirety of me shift and there were a couple of occasions where either customers or guests were intoxicated or became violent. There were also requests for more regular cleaning and maintenance, but limited resources to do so.
