Good work-life balance, but concerns about leadership fairness

Initially, Amedisys offered a good work-life balance, valuable healthcare experience, and the opportunity to work independently. As referral volume decreased, however, it appeared the company was reducing or potentially eliminating referral coordinator positions.
Cons
Some senior leadership decisions appeared inconsistent, which created concerns about fairness, racial bias, and whether employees were evaluated equally based on their performance.
Caring office culture hindered by upper management's secrecy

Pros
Pay is decent although no raises this year due to UHC buyout. Office staff works well together and we do care about each other. Clinical Managers are very smart and very approachable. Office is flexible about medical and other appointments we have to make for ourselves.
Cons
Amedisys upper management is a slave to metrics, numbers, and stars. Always behind closed doors when they visit the office. Extremely limited communication and transparency. We never know what is happening until it has already happened.

Very comprehensive, "lead you by the hand" orientation. Very supportive office team.
Cons
Entire orientation was structured around videos or live streams, it was very tedious. I was grossly misled about the pay I would be receiving once off orientation. I signed up for an Every Weekend Position that they themselves described as Baylor. But there was ZERO compensation for working every weekend. They seriously expected me to committ to working every Friday, Saturday & Sunday for ZERO extra pay, and they misled me by providing an annual salary that turned out to be for orientation only, after which my gross pay went down by $500 per paycheck. So I made $500 LESS per paycheck than I did while in orientation! Deceptive pay practices is definitely a CON.

Decent salary, but the negatives far outweigh the compensation.
Cons
Unsupportive management with poor leadership skills. Hostile work environment. Overbearing physician leadership contributed to low staff morale. High staff turnover and heavy workloads. Expensive health insurance with high deductibles and limited coverage. Inconsistent leadership with limited oversight.
Welcoming coworkers overshadowed by unprofessional leadership

DOO at Altoona PA branch is highly unprofessional. Her leadership is lackluster and mundane at best. Pure favoritism and “high school drama” is at the core of this branch office. Nothing will change until there is a change in a DOO, she causes issues for aids, RNs, liaisons and the entire staff alike.
Nice patients, but staff shortage creates a cliquish vibe
