Benefits aren't terrible.HR is easy to work with and fun!

*For Healthcare only*- Poor market (We mainly only staffing nursing homes and some home health.)- Poor budgeting/management decisions- Everyone's salary and commission were decreased due to poor market/production- Recruiting managers don't follow policies that are in place.- No culture or drive anymore. The job used to be fun. Now everyone is getting fired or they are quitting.- No work life balance.

Ascendo treated me very well. I had a great experience with the company until I left. Unfortunately, they refused to pay me my final paycheck, citing an advance I received and an unpaid invoice from a client as the reason. Was technically negative in draw since money was not collected but had pending receivables to cover plus some. While I can understand the business rationale, it felt unfair and left a bad impression. They played technicalities, It ultimately reinforced that I made the right decision and made it easier to depart.

- They use a draw salary (which just means you are working 100% commission) they just give you a small amount upfront. - Notorious for firing staff in order to keep clients and/or commission. You can check public records for any law suits. - Poor workplace culture - Poor leadership- Very high turnover

Great commission structure when you're billing and enjoyed working with my coworkers that were the same level as me.
Cons
This company had a really negative effect on my mental health. I ended up needing to increase my anxiety medication due to the environment.When I started at Ascendo, they seemed to care about work/life balance and about their non management level employees. After less than 3 weeks there, we were mandated to go 5 days in office. We had very little PTO and were expected to work 50-60 hour weeks. I have no issue with working hard, but nothing you could do was ever enough.The management is extremely unethical. I had a male manager frequently make inappropriate comments about my body, and he did this to every female recruiter on the team. He made oversexualized jokes frequently. He also would use slurs for women, people of color and disabled people.We were yelled at nearly every day and told almost verbatim that our personal lives and wellbeing mattered less than the bottom line.

Their training was fantastic. It gave me the skills I needed to find another job after they let me go due to a lack of business on their end.

I knew the job would be short term when I heard the president of accounting and finance up laughing and bragging about firing people in the New York office. If you're fresh out of college looking for your first job, avoid at all costs.
