False competitive pay opportunities
02/10/2025 - Jackson, GA
Pros
Fun interaction with other coworkersBreakdown loads and container drops pays the most
Cons
It's not first comes served to get a profitable task because you are paid by performance. Unfair treatment towards New hires who doesn't get a chance to experience this so called competitive pay when they're are given scraps. Supervisor can sabotage your assigned work load in retaliation to complaints. For example, illegally clocking employees out while still required to finish the task before leaving the site. Favoritism towards others leave no room for New hires to grow. Selective competitive pay meaning people that been there longer get priority for the better paid tasks. The pay for one task is not worth it because it's only 7$. Straight pullsIf your not favored expect to be used and given the worst task like the straight pull task per truck load. The pay for straight pulls used to be 30$ per trailer and now currently reduced to 7$. You will make nothing for job that stated there's an opportunity to make nearly 1000 a week. It's all a big lie and exploiting new hires is apparently a thing for employees that been there longer. Makes me ask where the competitive pay coming from when your getting no experience to do the higher paying tasks. Also the people that the supervisor favors are usually the one snitch on you when you have complaints that causes retaliation and more false problem blamed against you.
Horrendous workplace
02/19/2025 - Springfield, MO
Pros
If you appeal to the clerk and managers ego you can make some decent pay, sometimes.
Cons
Where do I even start. My biggest gripe with this job has to be the fact that when there are no more trucks left to be handed out you have to go help other people finish their trucks to even get a chance at leaving without some type of punishment from management. When you are finished with your truck, unless you are the last person, you will have to go help other people, usually not just one person, tends to be multiple people you end up helping. This isn’t that bad of course, except for the fact that you do it all for free. This job is completely production pay based. You get paid by the truck you do, if you help other people you aren’t getting paid, you do it for free. You have the option of taking a percentage of their truck, but even then the trucks being completed at the end of the night are what are known as “drops” which are trucks which pay anywhere from 9 to 50 dollars. The most you can usually get is 30%, a drop can take hours to complete even with help. If you take a percentage the person you took it from will know and they can then take a chunk out of your truck the next chance they have to help you, so taking percents for helping is generally frowned upon and not worth it in the long run. That being said over the course of time I worked here I quiet literally spent hundreds of hours working for free. I would’ve been able to leave 3-4 am every night usually if I hadn’t had to help every single night. Because of this you end up leaving anywhere from 5-8 am in the morning. If you even think about arguing against helping or just wanting to leave because there is no more money to be made for yourself people look at you like you are crazy. The craziest part is that not everyone is made to stay and help, certain people who are the clerk or the managers favorite can just leave when they’re done. These favorites also get a steady supply of good paying trucks while everybody else gets the leftovers. Trucks can take 15 minutes to 5 hours depending how large they are. A 5 hour truck usually will pay out about 18-50 dollars. Smaller easier trucks can pay out a maximum of 76-105 dollars but these tend to be given to the favorites as mentioned before. There is no hourly pay, if the clerk dislikes you, if the boss doesn’t like you, or if there aren’t enough good paying trucks that day for everyone to do you can literally make 50 dollars for a 10+ hours work day. My worst paycheck was 350 dollars for 50+ hours of work. Now of course I’m sure you’re wondering, “that’s below minimum wage how is that legal?” Well it’s “legal” because this company likes to fiddle with your hours. They’ll make it look like you’ve got an amazing hourly rate even when you’re being paid below minimum wage. You’ll be logged for 30 hours when you worked 50, you’ll work six ten hour days and somehow still be under 40 hours. This is all to make their numbers look good and make it appear as if everyone is being paid well and not on “SMR” pay. Which is the minimum amount you’re permitted to make without being fired due to “unproductivity” smr pay is 15 dollars an hour and you will be paid this for every hour you worked if you are not meeting this amount in accordance to your hours worked and amount made that week. But you won’t make it to SMR unless they want to get rid of you. They’ll toy with your hours, make it look like you’re making 30 bucks an hour when really you’re making far less. If they don’t like you expect to get the worst low paying trucks, little to no help at the end of the night, still be forced to go help others, and long hours with no pay. This job is an absolute scam. They rely on a constant stream of new hires to get the worst paying most difficult trucks done in order for the favorites to be able to do little to no difficult work at an amazing pay rate. They don’t care if you stay or leave unless you absolutely work your tail off and are willing to work for free constantly with no complaints. Do not work here. This company needs to slowly phase out and be replaced with a completely different system of doing these things. Also watch out for the boss, he is very two faced and much more conniving than he leads on. He will gaslight and ridicule you if you step out of line or question the method of doing things there. He is no better than the last boss that worked there. Do. Not. Work. Here.
