I was able to work flexible hours and pay was decent $13/hour plus tips as a PT employee

If you are a PT employee and don’t work weekends, they don’t guarantee any hours, so one week you can get 24h, another more if it’s really busy and they need you, and yet when it gets slow or they keep hiring more people they can give you as little as 5hours. There is no loyalty to hairstylists with experience that have great numbers and you will get punished just because you don’t work weekends even though that’s how you were hired, to give those full time employees their days off during the week. They only use you when they need you and other than that you’re supposed to wait until it’s busy season again to get more hours. Pretty disappointing…

The clients are always coming in. You don’t have to worry about color or other chemicals as you’re only doing haircuts. You get an hourly salary even if you’re not cutting & clients can request you which may lead to better tips and some friendships

There is nowhere to go; no moving up, advancing, climbing the ladder.. It’s hard on your body. Sometimes you receive really generous tips & sometimes you get nothing. There are days you don’t get a lunch

The customers are delightful! They really seem to loving coming in and being met with consistency. Our franchisees really put their best efforts into making sure we love our jobs.
Cons
I can understand how a franchise can really bring down moral, so great clips doesn’t always have the best reputation and sometimes you’ll get a customer who you’ll have to work a little harder with to change there mind about the great clips experience. And it is a very fast pace work environment. Schedules can be inconsistent but everything is laid out to you in orientation.
