Management is eliminating all controls roles and demoting anyone that does not pass a ramsey test and interview for Automation Engineer. New role is the same, except on call 24/7. They are also reducing the number of controls positions.

Being vertizalized by industry can keep you within your industry for growth unless you are actively seeking other vertical leaders and networking accordingly.Lack of geography focus due to verticalization. Can sometimes lose touch with local colleagues that work within other industry verticals.
