Average salary but unclear, overworked expectations

Salary is on par with industry average at the start
Cons
Constant movement of goalposts and lack of clarity on tasks. Tasks change without concern for time involved to complete or even the possibility of being able to complete. Work hours are of no concern to management only that what they want gets done. Constant reminder that they run a lean staff model while in reality is that it’s an overworked skeleton crew. While coworkers are great they are blatantly aware that everyone is being overworked and that even impossible tasks are expected to be completed with little to no pushback. Buyer beware you will be worked hard until you decide to quit in a year or less. Your work life balance does not matter they are only focused on stakeholder returns at the cost of their employees. This is as corporate as corporate life gets.

I've been here several years and have watched significant turnover at senior levels — which, to me, points to a deeper problem with whether people can raise concerns without repercussions. Complaints often aren't handled well, and performance management tends to feel punitive rather than developmental. Pay at some levels is hard to live on, growth opportunities are limited, and earned PTO isn't paid out when you leave voluntarily. There are also real workplace-safety concerns at some sites that deserve to be taken more seriously than they've been. Anyone considering a role here should go in with a clear-eyed picture of these patterns.

You will experience unethical leadership, lack of accountability by leaders, psychological safety concerns, compliance violations with meals and apartments and an organization whose values are consistently reflected in how people are treated and the turnover rate.

*Free apartment if you’re lucky*Literally nothing other than the free apartment.. if you’re lucky*Decent work hours*Would give 1 star if it wasn’t for the apt perk and the work life balance- everything else is horrible.

*LOW pay even compared to other storage companies*Basically no room for growth or higher pay- you MIGHT have an opportunity for an $150 a couple times a year depending if you hit the ever changing metrics plus some. *Business model screws customers and only benefits the big wigs *You have to be a rental agent, debt collector, janitor, auditor, landscaper, maintenance facilitator, and much more for little to no money. *Upper management treats you like a peasant and won’t even address you, will send your immediate supervisor to deliver the bad message. *Required to solicit Google reviews, 4 each month or will be disciplined or at rush of losing your job.*Very HIGH turnover.*Required to work multiple stores- doing two jobs in one day. *Must be okay with being the front line punching bad for customers to lash out on constantly.*Old computers and equipment. Do not replace broken golf carts anymore and expect you to walk and tote things by hand. Must sweep and mop 1000’s of sq feet- no automatic equipment. *Stingy buying things to make the job easier or pay employees more but have money to constantly buy out other storage companies. *I have seen people fired for little to nothing- watch your back at all times they are waiting for any slip up. *Micro management and nothing but negative feedback*No employee appreciation- you might get coffee and pastries at the monthly meeting and that’s it. (In 4 years all I got was a reusable water bottle LOL)
High workload and low pay lead to burnout

Burn out. Get used to being called in on your days off. You have to work multiple properties in one day double the workload without double the pay. $14 an hour for the amount of work in the horrendous conditions we have to work under. All the skills you have to have this job should be paying a bare minimum of $20 an hour. We're always short staffed because people get hired and see what this jobs really about and how much you have to do and the skills you actually need and they quit. Nobody wants to do this job for $14 an hour it's not worth it.
