Public Storage Reviews
Worker bees feeding the queen Joe
04/23/2025 - Spring, TX
Pros
It’s not constant face to face interaction with customers like with retail or restaurant. There is SOME downtime. Company housing is super affordable.
Cons
It doesn’t matter how much you bend over backwards for your position, for your boss, for your bosses boss. You are still a worker bee at the end of the day, working your tail off for upper management and stockholders to get a fat check. I was commended time and time again by higher management for pulling off the impossible or going above and beyond, but it’s all just their mental manipulation to keep you satisfied at their unethical pay rate. A pay rate that at least guarantees you to qualify for government benefits like Medicaid and foodstamps.
Great company and benefits
04/24/2025 - Fairfax, VA
Pros
Love working for the management team
Cons
On call 7 days a week
Not great pay and working multiple locations
04/24/2025 - null
Pros
Some of the employees are great to work.
Cons
Working multiple locations in one day. Sometimes it's really busy and a lot for only one person in the office especially if your working a split.
Destroying the Culture from Within
04/24/2025 - Los Angeles, CA
Pros
No late nights. Paid time off.
Cons
Multiple locations make standards impossible to meet. Focus on customer experience is rapidly deteriorating. Pushing the office team out of the office and into 70% outside cleaning is not "helping Customer service", the focus of the company has deteriorated during my time there.
Horrible company to work for
04/28/2025 - Fort Worth, TX
Pros
There are no pros working for this
Cons
They don't give a crap about the employees
Horrible Company all the Managers are Quitting
03/08/2025 - Green Bay, WI
Pros
There are no pros at this company
Cons
They've had 4 out of 7 Supervisors quit in the last 6 months. They've let go of most of their U.S. based workforce and instead have decided to outsource all their employees from the Philippines.
Manageable
03/11/2025 - Houston, TX
Pros
No weekends are good to have family time.
Cons
Higher pay is possible for ALL field employees.
High Demands, Mixed Support – A Call for Better Processes and Clear Career Paths
03/06/2025 - Glendale, CA
Pros
- Challenging Environment: The work pushed you to grow rapidly through high expectations, forcing you to elevate performance.- Learning Opportunities: Exposure to complex tasks provided practical experience and expanded skill sets.- Caring Colleagues: Many coworkers and some leaders genuinely care about employee well-being, creating pockets of support amid broader challenges.
Cons
- Lack of Process and Structure: There is a significant absence of consistent processes, systems, and support that hampers efficient workflow.- Internal Silos: Persistent departmental silos hinder collaboration and cross-functional communication.- Unclear Promotion Criteria and Development: Career progression lacks transparency—promotion decisions often seem arbitrary, with some deserving employees overlooked while others move up without a solid foundation.- Centralized Decision-Making: Major decisions are made by a very limited group, limiting broader employee input and eroding trust.- Poor Benefits Package: The benefits leave much to be desired, featuring only 3 paid holidays, subpar health benefits, no tuition assistance, and no opportunities for internships or cross-over learning experiences.
Great

03/02/2025 - Davie, FL
Pros

Cons
Dealing with customers that have payment problems
I did something new
03/16/2025 - Newport News, VA
Pros
Excellent staff, from the managers I interacted with to my coworkers. some locationas actually have apartments that employees are allowed to live in for a $2(from starting) an hour pay decrease.
Cons
The hourly pay is $13/hr. Nowhere near enough for a person to support themself.
Wasn't what i expected
03/16/2025 - Chicago, IL
Pros
Very busy not much downtime, Leadership was good
Cons
Higher up leadership wouldn't get things done, Asked a lot more than what they should
Pros and cons
03/19/2025 - Plano, TX
Pros
Reasonable pay for corporate employees.Reasonable work-life balance.A lot of great teammates. The organizations runs lean, so you have the opportunity to wear a lot of different hats and learn new skills. It's easy to take initiative and make real decisions that have an impact on the organization.
Cons
Terrible benefits: 3 holidays, no paid parental leave, relatively poor health insurance.Awful pay for frontline customer-facing employees. Hard to feel much company pride about that. The office space is textbook "soulless corporate '90s", and it's a real drag when you haven't seen the sunshine in 8-9 hours.
Find Better
03/21/2025 - Los Angeles, CA
Pros
Consistent work due to multiple franchise locations. No location micro-managing, it is a Self-managing position. Flexible. Offer housing to those who qualify and the availability.
Cons
Use of personal assets such as car and gas reimbursement does cover the amount used. If there is any damage or an accident, you will use your personal coverage for vehicle or medical expenses. Your personal cell phone will be used as your work phone as well. You wear multiple hats as a manager; you are a custodian, rental agent, sales clerk, and possibly, security, The company does not always set you up for success because none of these properties have physical security and this fact attracts burglars and thieves. There are so many instances of theft with this company that, rightfully so, provoke a multitude of customers. There is no space between you and customers, and sometimes they are hostile. Many of them have had their belongings stolen, and the company does not make security improvements for their customers or their employees.
Good benefits
03/25/2025 - Fairfax, VA
Pros
Good benefits good management working alone
Cons
Working weekends no holidays off but Chris new years and thanksgiving
