Public Storage Reviews
Horrible
02/22/2025 - Kansas City, MO
Pros
Hours and some co workers.
Cons
Favoritism, also being told that you have to watch how you use your toilet paper because they do not want to order excess of it. Pay is horrible for what you have to deal with customers yelling at you cussing at you and threatening. You only get paid three holidays in those three holidays is when the office is closed any other holiday you have to work the full entire shift. District managers, gossip about employees and other managers. Also upper management refers to employees in derogatory terms in store meetings.

Good position, good company, awfully quiet most of the time
01/06/2025 - Marietta, GA
Pros
The coworkers I had were all incredibly supportive, patient, and quick to help when needed. Pay was fair and the job's tasks themselves aren't all that challenging for the avg. person
Cons
Working at multiple different locations in your district in the same week. Most of the more tenured staff live on site in apartments on property or have a "home store" so they only work at one location, so if you're new you'll be what's called a "Relief Manager" and cover properties on the days the residential manger is off. That parts not so bad, but in the district in which I worked I could be at a property that was 8-10 minutes away from me, and the next day one that was 45 minutes away.
It's alright
01/06/2025 - Los Angeles, CA
Pros
Lots of downtime and Independence, it's not a hard job just a lot of cleaning and paperwork. Customers are sometimes an issue but generally pretty pleasant. The breaks are infrequent and Hard to abide by. Shifts are always available. Management is fair from what I see
Cons
Upwards movement is very political. The job is sometimes questionable in its practices, break-ins are frequent and hard to deal with. when cleaning bugs are frequent, bad customers are worse than other jobs in retail or customer service equivalents
predatory management, scapegoating common.
01/08/2025 - Dallas, TX
Pros
The hours were consistent, and the territory was small.
Cons
Limited pay, no compensation for travel, and limited guidance on processes added or antiquated systems at older properties.
Strong company, weak culture
01/25/2025 - Los Angeles, CA
Pros
Company is flush with money and will be around for a long time. Comp for DM and up is very competative.
Cons
Mindset of favoritism and political games overshadows what could otherwise be a good place to work. Rules and discipline are applied with little consistency ultimately driving to promote yes men and stifle constructive feedback.
It's not for everyone..
01/15/2025 - Chicago, IL
Pros
There is no "boss" hovering over your shoulder all day and a good mix of duties to perform
Cons
The pay does not reflect the amount of work you do.
It’s fine
12/16/2024 - Bartlett, IL
Pros
* FREE onsite living (if an apartment is available and if your DM approves you living there)* save money on gas when you work at home* the job can be easy certain times of the year when it’s slow* working individually, if that’s a plus to you* not a lot of micromanagement from DM*there is a monthly bonus available if you can get it, but they’ve made it more difficult to earn. it’s $150 a month if you get it.* there is also a regional bonus available which ranges from $100-$2000 but is very difficult to get chosen for it because only a few people are chosen per region* set work hours and opportunity to leave early if you contact management
Cons
* they’ve changed our scheduling. A manager used to work 1 property every day for the most part. You had plenty of time to get work done usually and some down time in the office. Now, they schedule us working 2 properties a day multiple times a week. Meaning, you start at 1 store, you’re expected to complete everything by 1:30pm, then drive to the next location and complete everything there. It can be stressful and frustrating at times. You do get mileage reimbursed between stores.* customers can be absolutely insane and rude
Public Storage is a great place to work.
12/20/2024 - Chandler, AZ
Pros
The call center environment was excellent and well-structured until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, the company transitioned employees to a remote work setup. This transition was handled seamlessly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption. Managers consistently provided constructive feedback, fostering continuous improvement and driving optimal results.
Cons
Shift availability tends to favor top-performing employees, making it challenging for others to secure the most desirable schedules. Additionally, achieving top-tier commissions can be difficult without access to the best shifts and strict adherence to the prescribed script.
Decent Company Lots of work
12/29/2024 - Atlanta, GA
Pros
Quick promotions, stipend for uniforms, Full time hours
Cons
Low pay, lots of work, lots to learn, a car is necessary to drive between properties and to go to banks
Ok company
12/03/2024 - Tacoma, WA
Pros
Helping customers. Benefits ok. Most district managers are good people.
Cons
Rats, and nothing you can tell customers makes it right. Buildings are starting to fall apart and constant leaks when it rains. And you can't forget the high rate increases and they don't just happen once a year, it can happen every three months. You are told to help the customers but you can only put a decrease in once a year and then the easiest way is to make them move units.

It's great for experience and a long time career
09/21/2024 - Los Angeles, CA
Pros
Great experience, healthy and professional work environment. You get raises and that's only about a couple cents. I'm not sure if there's a cap, so if you plan to have a long term job then this could be it.
Cons
Pay is not a living wage and crappy customers but what job doesn't?
Don't care about their people
09/13/2024 - Columbia, SC
