Public Storage Reviews

Hopefully you're never desperate enough to have to work here!

04/14/2026 - null

Pros

Other than a paycheck, none.

Cons

It starts with the interview... in 30 seconds, they tell you "this is what we pay you, will you take it or not - because it is completely non-negotiable." Full stop. Done.

Opportunity for growth

04/08/2026 - Baltimore, MD

Pros

Opportunity for growth, Benefits, Great training program for new hires

Cons

Pay should be increased, more holidays and Sundays off to align with competitors, paid holidays

Simple job with helpful management, but pay is not the best.

04/08/2026 - Catonsville, MD

Pros

The job is very simple with the proper training. Most of the team is always willing to help if needed. Upper management is extremely helpful.

Cons

- Pay is not great- Employees not always held responsible for leaving work for other employees or calling out all the time.

Flexible schedule with low budgets and high demands

04/22/2026 - Northridge, CA

Pros

-Work alone or with 1 other person, management isn't constantly in your face-Job requires leaving the office to walk around facility-Company tries to keep you in districts close to your home. I work at 10 locations, but none of them are more than 20 min from my house-Schedule is a set time every single day (for most locations). No Clopening shifts, graveyard, or early mornings.

Cons

-Facilities have low monthly budgets, often not letting you order more than $100 per month to accomplish your job. They will get on your case about resolutions you literally can't accomplish because they denied something-Company uses third party vendors for repairs, often waiting long periods of time (some month +) while you have to handle disgruntled customers not understanding why their important repairs havent been done yet-Unnecessary volume of calls each month (Some locations 500+) that they require done by specific dates, regardless if the facility has been only managed by one employee the entire month-Management often requires you to lie or bend the truth for even the simplest of responses (You really have to tell people that in 2026 you simply cannot access online pricing)

Great benefits but lacking better bonus incentives

04/08/2026 - null

Pros

Benefits and working independently by yourself.

Cons

Better bonus incentives and longevity bonuses.

Limited independence but low pay

04/28/2026 - Seattle, WA

Pros

Some independence but that's really it

Cons

Pay is not very good

Middle management is approachable, but benefits are lacking

03/25/2026 - Frisco, TX

Pros

Relatively approachable middle management.Leader in the industry with ambitious plans for shareholder success.Corporate relocation to North Texas means opportunities for employees in area.

Cons

TERRIBLE benefits for corporate employees by almost any measure: Three paid holidays, 60 days for your expensive health insurance to kick in, over a year before any 401k matching, mandatory office attendance with few exceptions, mediocre PTO. No other company in the S&P 500 or even in the self-storage industry is this cheap. Truly pathetic. The corporate relocation to Texas was a bad beat for California employees, and leadership never took real ownership for how badly the process was communicated and managed.Success is all about the stock price, which is bad news for the hourly employees and some of the salaried employees whose roles are being automated or outsourced as fast as possible.

Best decision accepting this opportunity

03/17/2026 - Lombard, IL

Pros

Public storage is a great place to work they promote within fair with time off family oriented

Cons

Nothing I can think of at this time

Ok

03/24/2026 - Los Angeles, CA

Pros

Schedule, that's about it. The schedule is the best part.

Cons

Everything else. While PS leads the storage industry in pay, the amount of work is unbelievable.

Good place to work

03/17/2026 - Houston, TX

Pros

Great people to work with. No micromanaging. Promoted on experience not seniority.

Cons

Pay to low for work done.

Grind

03/02/2026 - Denver, CO

Pros

Stock options, stability and career growth opportunities

Cons

No work life balance, lack of empathy for employees and customers.

Very low pay.

03/17/2026 - Louisville, KY

Pros

Not really any that I can see.

Cons

The pay is very low for the amount of work you're expected to do, and there's absolutely no room for advancement. They are so only pay three holidays. If it is your normal day off you do not get paid for it as a holiday.

Great job

03/24/2026 - Denver, CO

Pros

Love this job, great work \life balance. Great perks and I live onsite free rent & utilities helps a ton!

Cons

For some people having to have a car may be hard.

Good Company

03/19/2026 - Trenton, NJ

Pros

You get to learn a lot under pressure. Great co-workers who were dedicated to the task at hand.

Cons

Small budget for repairs in area that are 1st Generation Builds. Roof leak issues, old roll up doors, low pay for property managers.

Working for ps

03/12/2026 - Indiana, PA

Pros

The On site housing options

Cons

No room for growth. Everyone is treated like they are bottom of the barrel no matter how much harder they work than peers. Living here is a blessing and a curse. You live on constant edge and anxiety of making one small mistake like missing a run to the bank or not getting enough phone rentals and no matter how hard or long you worked for them they will threaten to fire you every single day. Its hard to like a job when you live in crippling anxiety of loosing everything over small simple mistakes.
