There is no job security and layoffs happen all the time without notice. Jobs are being sent to India. Due to constant layoffs, career opportunities are limited. More work is placed on everyone else with no additional compensation- we can’t even get a cost of living raise. The merit raises are a joke even if your annual review was great.
