Pay meh... Benefits great!

10/01/2025 - Lewisville, TX

Pros

-ESOP-Health Insurance (After 1 year)-40 Hours PTO (After 1 year)

Cons

-District managers make or break it-High turnover in perimeter departments

good

10/26/2025 - Perris, CA

Pros

Good environment to work in

Cons

gotta wake up early for work

Good community, bad communication

10/21/2025 - Beaverton, OR

Pros

You can take time off to go do stuff if you put in your request at a reasonable time. Fellow coworkers are friendly, even towards people in other departments.

Cons

If you get hurt on the job they will cut your hours and pay and pretend they didn't retaliate so pay attention to the forms they have you sign. They also had me doing the same task every single day for several days a week--even though others got to alternate tasks--which lead to my injury due to the repetition. They don't provide a uniform and will give you a shirt you can only wear one day a week without disclosing that information. Department manager does not provide constructive feedback, only demands that you work faster without providing you the tools or resources to learn your job better.

Pros

Awful

10/02/2025 - Moscow, ID

Pros

Occasionally the store manages to hire a not awful manager

Cons

Deli is the worst by far

Fast paced, expected to do more with limited resources

10/26/2025 - Idaho Falls, ID

Pros

The benefits are really cheap.

Cons

The benefits are cheap because you will get banged up on the job one way or another. MITs (managers in training) sign up for the position and wonder why they have to do management-related work, so they make you try and do it instead.

Conflicting rules

10/06/2025 - Granite Bay, CA

Pros

Easy first job for people

Cons

The lead clerks and the managers never talked to each other so they would give us conflicting orders. One lead clerk would say that as long as the cart room was stocked we could do whatever we wanted, while others would write you up for simply checking the time on your phone. A perfect example is around May when it was starting to heat up and one of the lead clerks brought paperwork for me and my coworkers to sign, it stated on the paperwork and we were told by the lead Clerk that if it was over 80° outside, that our 10 minute breaks would go up to 15 minute breaks, then several months later I got fired for taking said 15 minute breaks while it was over 100° outside (I worked outside my entire shift) and they claimed I was stealing company time. The new manager who does the schedules is severely incompetent and doesn’t know what he’s doing there were several weeks in a row where the last day of the week was massively overstaffed by 2 to 3 times the amount of people we should’ve had for our department simply because he needed to give us a certain amount of hours but he didn’t. Even after I told him that I had type one diabetes, he tried writing me up/firing me for checking my insulin pump (something I can die from if not properly controlled). When I was hired, they told me I would be getting at least 20 hours a week, three months in and I was only getting between 12 and 16. Then after asking several times for more shifts it went down to eight. There were several times where they would call me at two in the morning on a day I had off due to classes to ask if I could come in. I had requested three days off surrounding my 21st birthday due to a planned trip I had with family members, then when the shift for that week came out, I was working all three days. I asked the manager (same incompetent one) why I wasn’t given those days off, he claimed I did not request those days off and that I must work them, even though I asked him in person nearly 3 months earlier for those days off.

09/08/2025 - Albany, OR

Cons

Good experience

09/12/2025 - null

Pros

Nice staff, good benefits, valuable experience

Cons

Too early shift in the morning

Great community, Always busy

09/16/2025 - Denton, TX

Pros

If you put in effort to work AND communicate with everyone, you'll have a good experience.

Cons

Since this location was one of the most affordable groceries in a college town and open 24/7, the department was nearly always busy. Outside of the preliminary computer work, the training consisted of shadowing for a few shifts and then figuring out your own rhythm. However, my coworkers were nearly always willing to help if I had questions.
