Work environment is terrible. Management is a revolving door. They can never seem to get anyone who actually makes a difference. Menu changes and such aren’t presented to staff until day of, so nobody is on the same page. Communication is clearly an issue. Schedules don’t align with business revenue projections, creating problems during those peak times. Kitchen staff never wears hairnets or beard guards; many customers complain. This place needs big boss management if there will ever be a turn-around.

Before covid and before the new corporate takeover, cracker barrel was a really fun store to work at and we were definitely very close and like a team. I learned a bunch of new things that I never learned in my previous jobs. Everybody was always willing to help, and everybody was really involved.
Cons
Hours were low and the only time you can work over there is basically the weekends. Once you get a four star apron, there isn't really much opportunities left unless they choose you to be a shift leader. Also, you have to take a class once a month called shrink, which is basically a course about stealing when you can't really do much about it. Maybe there is some things you can prevent, but you can't one hundred percent prevent stealing. Plus you have to have clear purses and be checked as if you're in a security job.
