Crash Champions Collision Repair Team Reviews

Worked long and hard, and hoped for the best

01/02/2025 - Redmond, WA

Pros

I work with some quality people who love cars, helping customers, and want to see our shop succeed. People who take a lot of pride in their jobs/craft.

Cons

Our shop prior to being purchased by crash champions, was a very high end/quality repair facility, that automobile enthusiasts and executives took their cars to. Because they knew the shop owner and technicians would do whatever it took to do what’s best for the car and customers needs. Now we are a numbers/volume driven shop, that cares zero about customer, car, or the people that work on them. They are currently changing the estimators pay scales/plans, so it will probably result in my long time estimator and many others to quit or worse yet, care a lot less.

RUN

01/03/2025 - Texas City, TX

Pros

None since Crash took over Service King

Cons

They just did a nationwide pay CUT for every service advisor in the country averaging 25-35% decrease . We were told one week before Christmas. They are expecting more from us and paying us less

Collision Repair Service Advisor

Pros

Fast Paced, room for growth and fun environment.

Cons

Stressful, hectic schedule and long hours.

All Talk, No Action…

01/19/2025 - Kansas City, MO

Pros

They buy quality tools/equipment for their shops when needed.. it just takes a while.

Cons

They act like they care SO much about the individual, how you’re not a number to them, and how they want to be better then all the other MSO shops.. but they just cut estimator pay by 35%, told managers to sugar coat it to make it seem like a “good thing” and all they want to do is buy up shops and be the largest MSO in the country.. then they recoup their money by cutting people’s pay in order to look good on paper for their next round of loans to buy up even more shops! I truly don’t believe they actually care about the individual, if they’re willing to destroy people’s incomes on a whim, while blowing through millions to aquire new shops.

Do more for less

Pros

Ability to accrue overtime since they don’t care how late you work, so if you need to make some extra money you can

Environment, work life balance, workplace supply inventory

Great Growing Company

Cons

General manager didn't know how to manage people without doing some questionable things to keep techs

Long hours, little help, zero faith in management

07/09/2024 - null

Pros

It’s a job. That’s the pro.

Cons

I average 50 hours a week but am not paid hourly thanks to their commission plan. They lied about literally everything to purchase our company and have doubled back on every word. I make less money for more hours doing the same job now. I’ll never trust this company and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone I know.

Garbage Pile

07/11/2024 - null

Zero Pros to working for this company.

Cons

Countless hours unpaid while working weekends.Zero upfront time off.Zero maternity leave/care.It’s like working for somewhere in 1900.They don’t give a darn about the employees.

Cons

Disrespectful office staff, almost complete lack of HR communication when issues arise, lack of organization and communication among management, constantly changing pay structure, rewriting contracts with no warning

Pay Scale

04/21/2025 - null

Pros

Well, at least you get some money.

Cons

Went from a generous draw plan that still held you accountable for your actions, to a dismal hourly wage, plus OT, and potential percentage earnings on finished jobs, assuming your location has exceeded a moving goal post provided to not put money in employees pockets, but their own.

Avoid at all costs

04/03/2025 - Exton, PA

Pros

If there are some, I couldn't tell you off the top of my head

Cons

The company as a whole

The sign says Crash Champions, but it's all Service King under the hood!

04/10/2025 - Westmont, IL

Pros

Before the Service King merger with Crash Champions it was exciting company to work for. Growth opportunities. Lots of good people with great vision/purpose who left the other big consolidators be a part of something better than the competition. It WAS a company that generally cared for its work force. But things changed...

Cons

After the Service King merger, Crash Champions became just like the competition. Ultimately losing its magic and secret sauce that got them to that point. As the merged Service King staff began to take over internally, they looked to protect their own. This caused most of those bright Crash Champions people to leave or get cut. Internal consolidation also began happening due to duplicated staff roles and under preforming multiple shops in same market geography. Hence, cost cutting and creating employee turmoil.Culture has shifted negatively and became combative and toxic at times. Narrow minded focus and not open to new or innovative ideas for improvement. Heavy micromanagement and no trust towards staff, despite what the tag line says. Managers and leaders are more worried about their position titles and how to move up the food chain. There is a constant stream of employee turnover, creating lots chaos and confusion, as no one knows where the last employee left off. It is not a employee centric company that it once was.Pay agreements/bonuses were changed/eliminated. In my experience, I was never notified by my VP nor by HR when mine was changed. I ended up not getting pay that was documented I should of received. And when I confronted it, I kept getting stonewalled, time and time again. I ultimately gave up and left, as I valued my sanity and well-being more than the pay I struggled to collect, because their ineptness. There is a disappointing lack of transparency, and communication is mediocre at best. These two companies were married together in an effort to keep Service King from failing. Thus vaulting them to a 3rd status in size among the top consolidators in the industry. However as a reminder, Service King was the one that filed for bankruptcy protection in 2022. And most of those people are in leadership roles at Crash Champions now, repeating the same bad decisions.Lots and lots of constant position openings doesn't indicate opportunity, it is a direct reflection of leadership's inability to serve, empower and retain its workforce. Unfortunately, this merger has cost the Crash Champions brand a massive human-capital toll and made them just like their competition; or possibly worse...
