CVS Health Reviews
Satan is your Manager
02/16/2025 - null
Pros
There are none, CVS will suck the joy out of the most basic pleasures, like breathing, and turn them into metrics you can never achieve. You will be beaten verbally about the face and head every day regarding your responsibility to maintain a 75% positive 'consumer regard' for CVS, which is impossible because everyone hates CVS. The managers will tell you to lie to members, so they do not understand how the benefits work because they do not want members to know what role the employer group plays in determining benefit coverage. Believe me when I tell you I was there for 5 years and it was a soul killing, miserable experience, every single day. And this was a work from home job. It had me not wanting to go into my own office after work I was so poisoned from the misery of the members.
Cons
You are just a piece of talking meat. They will leave you to rot on the phones and do nothing to help you advance no matter how hard you try and no matter how good your metrics are. There is a hidden agenda with CVS and advancement, they get federal grants for promoting transexuals and other LGTBQ members. They are also all about promoting transexualism and they are 100% supportive of transitioning babies and small children as long as someone is paying for the butchery services we call medicine today.
Good company
02/24/2025 - San Antonio, TX
Pros
Decent healthcare plan, great vision and dental. Many positions remote. Good management, your supervisor is always there when you need them and your team. Lots of PTO. You HAVE to request it 48 hours before using it but as long as everyone hasn’t requested that day you are pretty much guaranteed an approval as long as your super is nice. Also lots of room to grow in the company
Cons
No call ins, 1 call in is a full point! And at or after 3 points in your first 4 months you get a write up. Even after your 4 months your points bank increases but you still can barely call in. You pretty much have to make sure you save your call ins for extreme emergencies. Also the health plan is meh. The amount of work can be stressful. Having multiple systems with one piece of info here and another there and you need to jump all over to find it is obnoxious.
Very good management
02/27/2025 - Minneapolis, MN
Pros
Very good management and advancement opportunities
Cons
Training could be better to unlock full potential of employees
ABHWV
01/25/2025 - Charleston, WV
Pros
Pay, insurance, remote, pto, benefits
Cons
Leadership is an incredibly toxic, very clique-ish, if they do not like you, or you are too serious in advocacy and make waves, they will try to remove you.
Great coworkers, difficult management
01/25/2025 - Woonsocket, RI
Pros
Intellectually challenging work- depending on the team you are on
Cons
Very political- leadership can be overly demanding
Lead Tech
01/25/2025 - Montclair, NJ
Pros
The other techs are always the best part about the job and the work isn't hard to pick up.
Cons
Angry customers and insurance issues
Expectations overwhelming
01/25/2025 - Chesterland, OH
Pros
I actually love working here. The store manager expectations are overwhelming given the hours allocated.
Cons
They cut hours to the point of not fulfilling expectations.
Jobs are not secure
01/28/2025 - null
Pros
PTO is good with rollover available each year. Ability to work from home is amazing, as is the flexible scheduling options. Pay is decent.
Cons
Training is not great, mostly you are given the basics and are left to figure the more complex things out as you go. Jobs are NOT SECURE. So many layoffs, over 3,000 employees cut in the last half of 2024. Positions are being sent off shore or turned over to A.I. options. Layoffs dates are being set, but people are being let go months before those dates due to lack of work because of the selling of assets by CVS, and turning jobs to off shore or A.I. It's a daily stressor for us employees whether or not we will have a job tomorrow.
Good Company
01/03/2025 - Marietta, GA
Pros
Good work for someone who does not like downtime and always needs to be busy and has a flexible schedule.
Cons
Not as stable for the retail setting as you would think since hours frequently fluctuate.
good and transparent culture
01/04/2025 - San Antonio, TX
Pros
CVS/ Aetna is a large company with many departments and teams under the umbrella of CVS. However, I work with the Small Group segment and specifically within AFA product and this has a rich transparent culture. While we all work remotely, we have easy access to communicate with everyone. Our managers are very supportive and easy to reach.
Cons
4th qtr can be very demanding. This is an hourly position so overtime is paid but hours can be high ( 50+) . This is my 2nd 4th qtr season with this team and the required OT has reduced this year. The highest amount OT required has been 10 hours as of 1-4-25
Not bad.
01/03/2025 - Denton, TX
Pros
I would say my specific location is great. They are quite laid back and I learned a lot through my time there. My certificate was paid for my CVS.
Cons
Most locations are toxic and HR does nothing about it. Some pharmacists literally just don't care about their job or how it affects others, so those locations are FLOODED with things daily. There is no room for improvement after you get certified, so this is not worth it long term but it's good if you're trying to get experience. Work is rarely done equally. There is definitely communication issues so be aware. We also deserve more pay for everything we do.
Cvs sucks so bad
01/03/2025 - null
Pros
Decent pay for a pharmacy tech.
Cons
I’ve got nearly 10 years pharmacy experience. I’ve worked in retail, medication adherence, corporate, data entry…. Cvs is where you go if you want to hate your life and your job and every single person you know. There is either no hours available at all or they expect you to work 9-8 5-6 days a week because every single cvs pharmacy in this country is dangerously and deliberately understaffed to save the company in revenue. All they care about is money and don’t give two fs about their patience or employees. If you got into healthcare because you care about people, find somewhere else to work because cvs will crush your spirit and make you want to quit healthcare.
Corporate America
01/03/2025 - Buffalo Grove, IL
Pros
Colleagues and work life balance in my team are excellent.
Cons
Benefits are less than wonderful, but that's to be expected from a Healthcare Company. Also, leadership is struggling. They have left areas hanging by a thread since the layoffs and are not 'caring' for their employees. Heart At Work behaviors are not being seen by the rank and file.
CVS ruined Aetna
01/02/2025 - null
Pros
Good benefits. The 401k match and stock purchase discount was the best things about the job
Cons
They promote friends. A lot of favoritism exist on the Aetna side. People that are not qualified get promoted because of friendships. People have gotten terminated just because they didn't get along with certain people. They do their best to limit your pay. They give you small annual raises like a few cents. Then if you get promoted instead of having a minimum for that position they give you a 7%-14% raise depending on if the hiring manager likes you. The prob with this is that you can become a supervisor and make less than your agents because they are only giving you a percentage increase instead of a minimum salary for that position. I was working with supervisors making 45k which is ridiculous for the amount of work you have to do. They pay you more if you come off the street vs moving up in the company
HORRIBLE MANAGER
01/23/2025 - Dallas, TX
Pros
The people you work with are the best part of the place if you are friendly. Otherwise, it is like being in MS again.
Cons
At the time I did not realize how shady it can be. From a boss who would hire more part-timers to give less OT to people who were getting less than I had been employed for and had been there much longer.
