Massive pay cut and uncaring bureaucracy

Good software that organized the administrative aspects of the job (eg, Workday). Good EHR (Epic).

The mental health center I worked at for over a decade became affiliated with Multicare. For the most part there was a lot of positive change (eg, EHR when none existed before the affiliation). However, Multicare started to have significant financial struggles and there was quite a bit of uncertainty. One day I look up my paycheck on Workday to find that my rate of pay was cut by just over 30%. I had no idea that my position was even being evaluated for a wage adjustment nor was I notified of the considerable adjustment. Imagine getting your paycheck expecting your regular pay and find it to be 30% lower. Unreal. I assumed the compensation department simply made a mistake. I have had nothing but positive performance reviews and no disciplinary action for 15 years. I requested a re-review and supplied plenty of supporting evidence showing that my previous pay was right at the prevailing wage. Months go by with no response. Then I get an email from somebody in management asking me to help connect a student to an intern opportunity but the email also flippantly mentioned that the contract paying Multicare for my services was likely not going to be renewed. The contract makes Multicare several thousands of dollars - they take half and give me half. At that point, I resigned. I went ahead and created my own business and am in the process of contracting myself so I can take home all of the $ from the contract and not have to be at the mercy of an uncaring bureaucracy, management and leadership. Please beware if you are planning to affiliate and-or work with this company.
