Members can be fun to converse with, the upper management I work with have been great mentors who explain and teach us what we need to succeed.

Management positions are grossly underpaid for the amount tasks, duties, responsibilities etc. most are unattainable on a day to day basis. And there is SOO much cleaning. This will vary franchise to franchise as will the benefits. but the salary stays the same company wide. PF is a fine company to start a Business/Management career path but if you wanna move up in your career and make a livable wage I would not stay here for more than 2-3 yrs.

The job is easy. Most of the time you just stand around and check people in. Most of the people who work at the front desk are very enjoyable.

The pay is insulting. There is a culture of not doing assigned work like cleaning due to how low the pay is. If anyone actually does the assigned work, they might as well just get a different job that pays more. They clearly are trying to extract as much money as they can out of the business while reinvesting as little as possible. The computers we used at the front desk were terrible when I started and almost unusable when I left 2 years later. I would not be surprised if they are still being used in another 2 years.You have to be the face people interact with when members are subjected to Planet Fitness's greed. The biggest example of this is with the late fees. If a member's monthly fee is not paid on time whether it be from a insufficient funds or a system error, they tack on a $15 late charge. With this job, you get to be the one to tell a person living paycheck to paycheck that they owe hundreds of dollars in monthly fees and hundreds of dollars in late fees because they forgot about their membership years ago.
