If you receive healthcare through a Sea Mar provider most services and medications are covered at 100% through the company insurance. The team an Bellevue Child & Family is very positive and supportive of one another,

Many sites only have one receptionist, so be prepared to be working completely alone, handling incoming calls for all 6 King county sites through a shared phone system. Other sites do not want you to schedule their clients, so you will be taking messages and notifying staff members at other sites of their clients needs. This causes a lot of frustration for the clients calling in attempting to do something as simple as making another appointment with their therapist. Training is also a joke. After 3 years with the company, I have been self taught through choosing to watch/read additional training documents to learn the proper ways to do things. New hire training basically covers how to log into Epic, you might get lucky with an instructor that shows you how to do a few things and then you are on your own from there.

Betsy, at federal way clinic is the most professional, hardworking and looking to help me when I called the clinic on July 8th at 4:15 pm. She went above and beyond to take hold and get every answer I needed Very kind , very professional, and compassionate to my needs. Best worker there as far as concerned. Burnout Clinician, love patients and co-workers

Love the mission, patients and co-workers. Fulfilling work. Nurse practitioner residency is great as a new clinician and supportive. They have specialists in Sea Mar to consult with and refer patients.
Cons
Overworked and burnout, leadership not really taking steps to address this. Nurse practitioners do not get the same benefits package as the physicians (less CME, PTO, less retirement pay, no sabbaticals). 15 minute visits and 24 patient/day template is hard work, and don't have enough time for inbox management. Clinic culture and dynamic with clinic manager is very clinic dependent; some more chaotic and disorganized than others.

-Leadership relies solely on rank rather than skill to manage employees-Outdated leadership does not value lower level employees-Leadership and upper management operates the administrative side of business like a big country club-Management uses company policy punitively rather than constructively-Leadership does not set clear expectations on their staff-High turnover due to burnout and lack of appreciation for lower level employees-Every department operates with a scapegoat-The Executive Director erroneously calls himself a CEO. Not-for-profits don't have CEOs-Wrong actions based on defined goal (symptom of Founder's Syndrome)

The Sea Mar system has frequent clinical supervision and opportunities for bonuses for exceeding productivity expectations. If you enjoy being busy this is a great place to do it. Other clinical staff are mostly friendly and collaborative.
Cons
This is a health care system that follows a traditional medical model lead by metrics provided to them from upper management. Our clients are often struggling and relying on us to trouble shoot their barriers for access to care and Sea Mar does not always provide those resources like transportation vouchers or referrals to community services. Sometimes the non-behavioral health team's style (medical model) can impact the behavioral health team.
