Din Tai Fung Reviews

Decent

04/20/2025 - Los Angeles, CA

Pros

Decent pay for a part-time job without restaurant experience

Cons

Lots of work, upward mobility limited to need and timing

Pros & Cons

03/07/2025 - Costa Mesa, CA

Pros

• Consistent pay & fair tips• Good place for experience w/ restaurant/fine dining and working as a team• Good coworkers make shifts better• Management is decent

Cons

• Difficult to move up! It takes a long time and some barriers to get promoted to server even though management will tell you to be patient and keep working hard. You have to keep bugging them to notice your efforts & hard work. Everyone takes a “competency test” and an extensive 4-part test to move up and most people fail the first time they apply. Then you have to wait 3 months to be considered again.• Management can be snappy and get annoying towards the team if they are in a bad mood. • In order to appease upset guests they often let difficult customers win, and a lot of guests complain bc of wait times.• Leads get a power trip• Strict uniform standards & attendance policy
