Depending on where you’re workingThey don’t care about your mental healthThe only opportunity of advancement you’re going to get is with being friends with your management You’re going to be held to standards no one else has - ie everyone can leave the floors or be on the phones, but don’t you miss anything or else your firedThe drama could rival a high school cafeteriaManagers are put into their positions via popularity and their posse are the ones who get assistant and shift leadersYou can’t call out, and you can’t leave early for any real reasons without getting some type of punishment And god forbid you ever get sick.Also you are the coverage, managers don’t cover anyone and then they take it out on crew members

I cut my finger to the bone and broke it. after a coworker bumped into me sliding the ice cart under the counter. The store manager made me finish my shift, wouldn't let me leave, wouldn't let me count my drawer before I left. Thus, I quit and turned in my uniform the next day.

Could make myself drinks and take donuts even though I believe I technically wasn't supposed to. Other employees were generally nice but there was some drama. Manager was nice.

Pay was not good, would sometimes have hours I was not paid and was scheduled just under 40 hours every week. Would typically be understaffed (especially considering I was at a high traffic location), sometimes during VERY heavy rushes.
