The pay is laughable. The work expectation was unrealistic and on average three meetings about the Urbcc each day. Keeping one from actually accomplishing the needed task of the day.

You get free merchandise almost monthly to try out and give recommendations to customers, discount is decent but you get extra discounts from different brands more than several times a year, and it’s fun getting to basically play with makeup all day.
Cons
Management cares more about profit numbers than about you as a person, coaching is often not given so that they have an excuse to write you up, minimal training for new employees so more experienced employees end up having to pick up the slack with no credit, customers can be horrible, and the hours as a part timer can be abysmal as they depend on how many credit cards you can close out each week.

customers can sometimes feel very entitled.return policy is very lenient. for example, if customer doesn't have proof of purchase, they can only receive the lowest price that product has ever been sold for, which can be as low as 1 cent (due to people using rewards points). customers usually don't take this well.

I have worked at Ulta for approximately 5 years as my part time job while attending University. Ulta has proven to be a great company with understanding of schedules, great discounts, and more.
Cons
I come from a faster paced work environment, so when there are not a lot of customers at Ulta, time can move a bit slowly.
